Bato: A Helpful Reading Aid for Dyslexic Individuals
Bato is a Chrome add-on developed by Emit Knowledge to assist individuals with dyslexia in reading. Dyslexia is a condition in which the brain processes written or spoken language differently. Approximately one in ten people worldwide face challenges associated with dyslexia, which can affect learning in areas such as reading, writing, spelling, and sometimes even mathematics. However, dyslexia should not be seen as a hindrance but rather as a unique learning style that does not depend on intelligence, socio-economic conditions, or teaching methods.
Bato aims to improve reading comprehension for individuals with dyslexia by providing helpful features. The add-on allows for the formatting of web page texts using the DyslexicFZF font, which eases reading. Additionally, users can change the background color of the text to colors that facilitate easier reading. The add-on also includes a zoom feature for text enlargement.
Bato promotes independence by enabling users to read texts without the assistance of a teacher or professor. It is user-friendly and free of charge, making it accessible to all. The add-on works with most internet content and is easy to install.
